ego Pricing: Plans, Free Trial and What's Free

By Robert Gadeev, founder of ego ยท Prices checked

Short answer: ego is free to download on iPhone. In the US, Full access costs $49.99 a year after a 3-day free trial, or $6.99 a week. Nutrition only costs $29.99 a year or $3.99 a week. A free account builds your plan and calorie targets and can log 1 workout and 2 meals.

Prices are from the App Store in the US. The App Store shows your local price before you confirm anything, and it can differ by country.

How the free trial works

  1. Pick the yearly Full plan

The trial comes with the yearly plan for people who haven't subscribed to ego before. The paywall says "You won't be charged now" when you're eligible.

  2. Use everything for 3 days

Workouts, meal logging, chat and daily analysis all unlock straight away. When you start the trial, ego can send a reminder the day before it ends.

  3. Keep it or cancel

If you do nothing, Apple charges $49.99 (US) when the trial ends. To stop, cancel in iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions at least 24 hours before the end.

What ego costs next to two separate apps

Most people who want calories and workouts in one place end up paying for two apps. Hevy Pro is $23.99 a year in the US and tracks no food; Cal AI doesn't publish a price list, and third-party breakdowns report about $29.99 a year (details on our Cal AI vs MyFitnessPal page). Together that's about $54 a year, with two profiles that don't share targets. ego builds the plan and the calorie targets from the same profile, so they move together.

Cancel in iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions at least 24 hours before the end. When you start the trial, ego can remind you the day before it ends.
