Account & Contact Data

Examples: email address.
When collected: when you create an account, contact us, or join the wait-list.

User-Generated Content (UGC)

Examples: workout preferences, fitness goals, food photos, nutrition logs, voice notes, text entries, attachments, and other content you actively upload or generate inside the app.
When collected: when you use app features that require this content.

HealthKit and Health/Fitness Data

Examples: steps, sleep, active energy/calories, workouts, workout history, and related health or fitness metrics made available through Apple Health/HealthKit, depending on the permissions you choose to grant.
When collected: only after you give explicit permission through the Apple Health permission prompt. You can manage or revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings or the Health app.

Usage & Device Data

Examples: interaction events, feature usage, crash logs, device type, OS version, language, IP address.
When collected: automatically through cookies, SDKs and similar technologies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We process your data to:

Provide and maintain the Service – store your workouts, sync data across devices, and deliver personalised training, nutrition, recovery, and progress-related features.

Enable HealthKit-powered features – read HealthKit data only with your permission to help analyze activity, sleep, workouts, active calories, recovery, and fitness progress. Where supported by the app, we may write workout or health entries to HealthKit only when initiated or confirmed by you.

Enable AI-powered features – analyse your UGC and relevant app context via third-party AI APIs to generate programme recommendations, estimate nutrition values from food photos, summarize workouts, and provide personalized coaching.

Improve and develop – monitor usage patterns with analytics tools to fix bugs and enhance the user experience. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, or unrelated data mining.

Communicate – send onboarding emails, wait-list updates, beta invitations, service notices and replies to enquiries.

Ensure security & compliance – detect fraud, enforce our Terms, and meet legal obligations.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)

We rely on:

Consent – for wait-list emails, marketing, optional analytics, and access to HealthKit data.

Performance of a contract – to deliver core app functions you request.

Legitimate interests – to maintain security and improve the Service.

Legal obligation – when we need to comply with applicable laws.

5. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

We never sell your personal data.

We share personal data only with trusted partners who act as processors under written agreements and only as needed to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.

Form & email collection: Tally BV (EU) hosts the wait-list form.

AI processing: third-party AI providers may process user-generated content and app context to provide AI-powered coaching features.

Analytics and diagnostics: analytics and crash reporting providers help us understand app performance, detect errors, and improve reliability.

HealthKit data is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared with advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers. We do not use HealthKit data for marketing or advertising purposes. Any processing of HealthKit data is limited to providing health, fitness, workout, nutrition, recovery, and progress-related features directly to you.

Each partner is required to process data solely on our instructions and with appropriate safeguards.

6. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries outside your residence, including the United States and European Union. We ensure an adequate level of protection through contractual clauses and other lawful transfer mechanisms.

7. Data Security & Retention

Encryption: data in transit and at rest is encrypted.

Access controls: only authorised personnel can access production systems.

Back-ups & monitoring: we maintain regular back-ups and monitor for vulnerabilities.

Retention: we keep data only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes above. You may delete your account at any time; residual data may be retained if required for legal or operational reasons, such as accounting records, security logs, or fraud prevention.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you can:

Access the personal data we hold about you.

Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.

Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”).

10. HealthKit and Apple Health

EgoApp uses Apple HealthKit to provide health and fitness-related features. HealthKit data is accessed only with your explicit permission.

Depending on the permissions you grant, EgoApp may read health and fitness data such as steps, sleep, active energy, workouts, and related fitness metrics. EgoApp may also write workout or health entries to Apple Health when you choose to use features that save this information.

We use HealthKit data only to provide features directly related to your workout planning, nutrition tracking, recovery insights, activity analysis, and progress tracking.

We do not sell HealthKit data. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, or unrelated data mining. We do not share HealthKit data with advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers.

You can review, change, or revoke EgoApp’s access to HealthKit data at any time in iOS Settings or in the Apple Health app.

11. Children’s Privacy

EgoApp is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly.
